Orthodox Baha'i Prayer

The Trio of Abundance

Eager to rest after a grueling day in the office, I took a cab on my way home. Little did I know that I would learn an important lesson in life from my cab driver.
As I entered the taxicab, I noted the sunny disposition of my cab driver, the clean seats and the stack of magazines arranged neatly on one side. According to my cab driver, he keeps the stack available for his customers to keep them busy during rush hour. The rush hour traffic allowed us the chance to talk.
Talk is what we did! With my prodding, he talked about himself, his dreams and goals. He intends to own five taxicabs in eight years and he has specific plans and timelines on how to achieve this.
At that moment, I felt I am in the presence of a unique individual whose passion I share. Both of us have set our sights to achieve abundance beyond our wildest dreams! This is our passion.
The term "abundance" continues to spark the interest of a lot of people. How do I know? Just type the word "abundance" in your favorite search engine and you'll see the millions of sites developed specifically for just this word. The last time I checked there are 29,700,000 sites with the word abundance.
Many people aspire and wish for abundance. A number of books have been written on how to attract abundance. In feng shui, lucky charms are placed in strategic places to entice prosperity in people's lives. This obsession with abundance created a whole new industry.
However, wishing alone will not lead you to prosperity. Read it again. WISHING ALONE WILL NOT LEAD YOU TO PROSPERITY. If you keep on wishing, see you in a hundred years! A lot of people keep on dreaming and wishing and then just stop. Many are taking this route simply because it is easy and requires minimal use of brain cells.
So what do we need to do to increase and triple our chance to attract abundance and prosperity in our lives?
Now comes the fun part of the lesson I learned from the taxi cab driver. In fact, he introduced me to his system to boost my chance of attracting abundance three times! Allow me to share with you his system.
The taxi cab driver's method is anchored on the Trio of Abundance. He states that wishing and dreaming must be followed by the TRIO OF ABUNDANCE: Think Positively, Act Positively and Speak Positively.
The cab driver shared some of his tips on how to make this trio of abundance a part of your life. Contrary to some marketing hocus-pocus, his system will not cost you a single cent. It is just plain human goodness and common sense.
Thinking positively means adopting the following mindsets: I am an optimist I keep an open-mind I am grateful I believe it can be done if I set my heart into it I view adversities as opportunities for improvement
Speak positively means doing these things: I always say "Thank you" I praise someone within 24 hours I share comforting words with friends in trouble I acknowledge a good behavior whenever I see one
Act positively requires these actions to be undertaken: I always smile at the people I meet I always hug the people I love I address people by their names I make people laugh
There you have it: The no-cost and complete system for increasing your chance to attract abundance three folds.
Feel free to add more in the list as you discover other innovative ways and mindsets to incorporate in your life. In the meantime, get ready for abundance beyond your wildest dreams!

Play and Stretch Your Way To Passion

Emilio Scotto was just a boy when he proclaimed to his mother, "Tomorrow I am going to travel around the world!"
His mother reminded him he needed to go to school tomorrow - like all the other elementary school children in his neighborhood in Argentina.
Emilio's "tomorrow" was bigger and his call to travel the world higher. It was not a passing fancy. It had him by the heart and would not let go.
It is the same with many sacred callings. In fact, when we listen to those calls with that child-like sense of wonder and suspend our disbelief that we can really go places. We find that we CAN travel the world, as Emilio did.
Not only that, he traveled using a highly unlikely method: a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle that he dubbed "The Black Princess" - his mystical, regal, significant partner on this unique journey. He circumnavigated the globe on "The Black Princess" not once but two times - both clockwise and counterclockwise. He visited 214 countries on his adventure, was arrested several times, came close to death other times, and on occasion questioned his sanity in taking on a game, an adventure, a challenge of this magnitude.
The journey wasn't completely smooth: there were misadventures thrown into his experience.
Just like in "real life", whenever we roll the dice, whenever we move and whenever we stay stagnant there are inherent risks as well as the possibility for magnified blessings.
"I want to be the dog!" Susie is excited. The room pulsates with the shared excitement which proclaims, "It's about to begin." Yes, the game is about to begin.
Jimmy examines the box to see if anyone has snared the race car yet because if they haven't, it's all his: the lucky, boxy silvery gleaming race car game piece has his name: "Jimmy" energetically etched on hits side.
"Wait- Gimme the thimble, I want to be the thimble...." intones Carla, seeking her favored playing piece.
Concentration high with energy soaring, the children gather around a flat piece of cardboard with some pictures and words on it. Each child places a silver icon of sorts on the space marked "Go". The dice crackle with electricity as they fly through the air. Their white faces with the black dots carefully and evenly assembled reflect the glimmering brightness in the players faces.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we allowed ourselves to approach our business, our professional life, in fact all areas of our life with the same zest as Emilio or Carla or Susie or Jimmy?
What if you approached your current projects with the enthusiasm and "go for it" attitude of any other neighborhood children you played wiffle ball field, freeze tag or charades with during your more carefree days.
"Without a care in the world", stepping up to the plate accompanied by all the great players before you, smiling with sureness and running with gusto no matter what. Remember that?
Last week I saw the motorcycle Emilio Scotto traveled upon for ten years. The Honda Gold Wing looked fairly unremarkable except for the collage of stickers covering the "Black Princess" body. What made it special was not its outer covering, it was in the energy which infused it.
It was palable. I was filled with incredible hope and inspiration as I stood in its presence. It was as if Emilio Scotto's heart was sending my heart a message. I heard his voice speaking. He shared the moments he wondered what on earth he was doing, all alone, miles from anyone who cared about him, so long from his goal that it still seemed impossible and yet?
He playfully, mindfully and determinedly kept moving.
He didn't quit. He set the game in motion as a young boy and he fulfilled that intent as a man.
He told his mother what his "game" was "Tomorrow I am going to travel around the world" and quite a few literal tomorrows later he put the playing pieces on the table, rolled his dice and went on the adventure of a lifetime.
You might be sitting there, thinking "That is all well and good for Emillio Scotto and I just don't see how it applies to me in my situation."
Emilio set out to see travel the world. At age 9, that was his aim. He didn't say "and it will be by motorcycle and it will be a ten year journey and I will circumnavigate the globe twice and I will learn five languages along the way oh, yes, please also be sure to initiate my being jailed six times".
He simply picked up the "dice" and "rolled". That's what he would do if his journey was playing Monopoly. He couldn't have much success at playing Monopoly if he stood on the middle of the board and threw a ball into the air and called out a number before running away as fast as he could. That would be S.P.U.D.
Emilio understood that. He left his job, got on The Black Princess and left his neighborhood playground for the world playground. He started with the first mile and kept re-inventing and starting over every day, in every mile and in every set back and every new lesson learned.
Your overall "game" might be something like this: "To impact a significant number of families in my community to lead more centered, balanced and effective lives utilizing workshops, family retreats and wellness days."
Your "Game for Today" might be something like this: "Contact two agencies to inquire about training and outreach opportunities" and "craft an outline for a flier explaining my services."
Your game is your game. Your victory will be your victory.
I can hear the electricity coming from the shining faces of the dice as they fly through the air. They are applauding your action, they are singing a chorus of "yes, you can!"

The Expanding Earth Theory
Using the idea that the continents are not drifting apart of together, and that the ocean beds themselves are not over 200,000,000 to 300,000,000 years old, a theory was devloped to rival that of the plate techtonics theory.

God Don't Like Rich People

I will never forget the day that my daughter's sixth grade friend told me that. We had been discussing someone who had recently lost a fortune and had become very bitter as a result. She suddenly piped up with that all knowing scowl that only a twelve year old girl can truly master while proclaiming, "God don't like rich people!" She said it as if it was a mortal sin worthy of an eternity in hell. She immediately made a snap decision from that point forward to dislike the person we'd been talking about. I've met her dad. He's a nice enough guy and from what I can tell, he agrees with his daughter. They are very regular attendees at their church. I don't know what church they go to, but all I could think to myself at the time was, "Who in the world is teaching her that!?"
For my daughter's sake, I bit my tongue. I wanted so badly to quiz her friend and find out the roots of that belief system. How does one logically come to that conclusion? I was under the impression that God was known to shower you with riches if he liked you. Solomon was extremely rich and God liked him. I thought that God's opinion of us had more to do with our character, not our bank account. I could even see that how you amassed your fortune could be important in God's viewpoint. I think about Job and how he was tested to see if money was the reason for his devotion to God. Upon passing the test, didn't God dump piles of money back into his lap again? And what about the father in the prodigal son story? He had money and God liked him.
Just as ridiculous to me are the people who spin it the other way around, as if God don't like poor people. They act like they're closer to God because they have money. Funny thing money, it can buy a lot of things, but I was under the impression that God wasn't for sale. Rumor has it that some churches and individual clergy can be bought, but not God Himself. Nowhere in the bible did I ever read that you could bypass the rules and just pay an entrance fee to get into heaven's gates.
I thought that money was a tool sometimes used for testing us. Do we remain spiritual while humbled and poor or do we become bitter and turn our back on God? Do we remain spiritual while spoiled and rich or do we become self righteous and turn our back on God? And what about the way we treat each other? Does the amount of money we have dictate how much love we are to receive from each other? "Congratulations on that job promotion you worked so hard for, buddy! But hey, you're too rich now, so me and God aren't going to hang out with you anymore."
What a silly concept that money would have anything to do with one's spiritual self-worth. I'm sorry for those children who have been raised to believe that the amount of money they do or do not have dictates whether or not God will like them. Personally, I've raised my kids on the idea that you behave yourself as best you can, and I do mean 'best.' Heed your spiritual calling. Love one another. Everything else will fall into place as it's meant to be. Oh, and be thankful for what you have. God don't like people with bad manners.

Dinosaurs Still Alive and History Altered

Basically, historians, archeologist, and other related science people, have concluded that the dinosaur is extinct. But native peoples have records and stories of dinosaurs, some of which were seen in modern times.

Nibiru
There is much talk this year about some unknown disaster coming upon earth, like many years before. One of the disasters being talked about is the return of the 12th plant Nibiru, which was made famous by Zecharia Sitchin. Titles
I have been writing recently and one of my articles is about Titles and how to write them. I am sure that if you write at all you have wanted your article or work read. One of the ways to gurantee that happens is to write interesting titles.
Bland titles produce very poor results when it comes to people reading what you have wrote. Even with a good title there are no absolute gurantees the article will be read, but without a good title it is almost guranteed not to be.

Homade Prayer Beads
I have been making my own jewelry and prayer beads for several years now and find that is is incredably rewarding. The prayer beads I use are made for the believer in the Orthodox Baha'i Faith. However, the directions I give in one of my articles can easily be adapted to any Faith.
Prayer beads are used to count the number of repititions on repeats on a prayer or a mantra if you come from that background.
Baha'is have several prayers and phrases that are to be repeated various numbers of times during a twenty four hour period.

ON WRITING PERFORMANCE POETRY
I have found that the judges are the hardest part of winning. They are chosen from the audience at the time of the event, and may have a favorite poet they are pushing. There is nothing you can do about that but be ten times better than him or her.
When delivering your poem you want to be loud and active, not just quietly standing in one place. And you want to show a great deal of excitement or emmotion depending on what is required of the poem.
Your poem can be on any subject, though I would recommend staying away from love poems, they very seldom come in anywhere but last palce.
